Call for Papers

Our CfP closes on November 6th, 2022 at 23:59 CET.
Yes you can add co-speakers when submitting your proposal. Please note that for regular talks we usually don’t allow more than two speakers per session.
You also have to declare all co-speakers during the CfP. Co-speakers that are added after the CfP has concluded don’t receive free conference passes and we reserve the right to reject co-speakers that are added after the CfP.
We can provide an invitation letter for your visa application. Please send us an email and provide the following information:
- Full Name
- Date of birth
- Full address
- Country of Residence
- Passport number
- Country issuing the passport
- Period of stay in Germany
Optional if you already have that information:
- Address of your accommodation in Germany
Tickets
We offer the following tickets types:
- Early Bird Tickets – 105€
Early Bird Tickets are only available until November 30th, midnight CET. They are reduced tickets for people who want to support us by buying early. Early Bird Tickets offer the same as our Standard Tickets, i.e they are full conference tickets granting access to our venue TUECHTIG in Berlin on both days of the conference, with food and beverages included. Early Bird Tickets also grant access to our online event. - Standard Ticket – 200€
Standard Tickets are full conference ticket, granting access to our venue TUECHTIG in Berlin on both days of the conference, with food and beverages included. Standard Tickets also grant access to our online event. - Reduced Tickets – 65€
Reduced Tickets are available for pupils, students, trainees, people on social welfare, retirees and people with disabilities. Reduced Tickets are full conference tickets, granting access to our venue TUECHTIG in Berlin on both days of the conference, with food and beverages included. Reduced tickets also grant access to our online event. - Business Tickets– 460€
Business Tickets are available for corporate customers. They are full conference tickets, granting access to our venue TUECHTIG in Berlin on both days of the conference, with food and beverages included. Business Tickets also grant access to our online event and to a recording of our livestreams directly after the conference. - Online-only Ticket – 39€
Online-only Tickets grant access to our lives treams and online event. Note that this ticket doesn’t provide access to our venue TUECHTIG in Berlin.
Yes! Orders of 400€ or more can be paid by invoice in the shop. In case you have any further questions on payment options, please send an email to info@foss-backstage.de
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the events industry hard and prices for nearly everything have gone up drastically. The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine further exacerbates this price hike. Most costs for event related services have risen even more than the general inflation numbers suggest and in order to make FOSS Backstage happen, we too have to increase ticket prices. We still tried to keep the increase reasonable and have Reduced Tickets available for people facing socio-economic hardships. Also keep in mind that we have gone from an event with one day online and one day onsite, to a two day onsite event.
In order to promote this diversity and inclusivity at FOSS Backstage, we have initiated a diversity tickets program. Diversity Tickets are fully sponsored (i.e. free) tickets that are available to people from underrepresented groups within the FOSS Backstage community. This includes, but is not limited to: women, people of colour, LGBTQIA people, disabled people, and people facing economic or social hardships.
The proceeds of Diversity Fund Contributions are put in a pool to pay for Diversity Tickets. Diversity Fund Contributions enable us to use your resources to support someone who might otherwise be unable to attend.
Please note that Diversity Fund Contributions are not tickets for FOSS Backstage (even though they are sold through our ticket shop) and therefore don’t grant access to our venue in Berlin nor to our online event platform.
In your order confirmation and your payment confirmation emails you can find a link to your order details page. Use the change details button in the “Ordered Items” box to change the attendee name. A ticket is only valid for one person and cannot be shared.
Yes, all of our Standard Tickets also include access to our Online Event Platform, where you can watch livestreams and interact with other online participants.
Venue
FOSS Backstage 2022 will take place March 13 & 14, 2023 at TUECHTIG in Berlin and online. Our Venue TUECHTIG is located in Berlin Wedding, at Oudenarder Str. 16, 13347 Berlin.
Our venue TUECHTIG is easily accessible using public transportation.
- Tram lines M13 and 50 stop at Osram-Höfe.
- U-Bahn lines U6, U8 and U9 all have stops in the vicinity. The closest ones are Nauener Platz (U9), Seestraße (U6) & Osloer Straße (U8, U9).
- Busses 247 and 327 stop at Nauener Platz, and lines 106 and 120 stop at Seestraße.
For route planning we recommend Öffi (Android) as well as the official BVG app and route planer (Android & iOS). Furthermore, the BVG website can be used to check all current train and bus connections: www.bvg.de
TUECHTIG also has bike parking available.

Yes, we are offering free wifi for all participants of FOSS Backstage at the venue.
Yes, we offer free food and drinks at the venue. Water, Tea and Coffee will be available throughout the day and we will also offer a lunch buffet, with vegetarian and vegan options included.
Yes. To enter the venue, you must wear a medicinal, FFP2 or (K)N95 mask. For further information on our Covid-rules, please visit our Health&Safety page.
