FOSS Backstage kicks off on Monday and we are very much looking forward to meeting all of you! We have collected everything you need to know in this handy blog post.
Time, Date & Location
Let’s get the most important facts out of the way first: FOSS Backstage will start Monday March 13th, 10:00 CET, with access to the venue starting at 9:00 CET. The program will end around 17:00 CET
On Tuesday, we’ll start an hour earlier, at 9:00 CET. Access will be possible starting 8:00 CET. The program will end around 16:45 CET
Our venue TUECHTIG is located at Oudenarder Str. 16, 13347 Berlin. It is fully accessible to walking-impaired participants. Find more information on accessibility here.
Please remember that you will have to wear a mask at the venue! We will also provide free masks at the conference.
Join our Get-Together
On Monday we invite you to join us for some snacks, drinks, and a chat at Vagabund Kesselhaus, located right next to our venue. Thanks to our sponsor Grafana Labs for supporting the Get-Together!
All food will be vegetarian or vegan and despite Vagabund Kesselhaus being a brewery, there will of course also be plenty of non-alcoholic drinks options.
Food & Drinks
Included in all onsite-tickets is a small breakfast, as well as lunch on both days and coffee, tea, water and thanks to our Drinks sponsor Bitergia also a selection soft drinks throughout the day.

Lunch on Monday:
- Chili sin carne (vegan & glutenfree), optional with break
- Various vegetarian sandwiches
- Brownies, Apple Tart & Chocolate Cheesecake
Lunch on Tuesday:
- Root Vegetable & Ginger Soup (vegan & gluten free)
- A selection of vegetarian wraps
- Cherry Cake, Banana Cake & vegan sweets platter
Sticker Exchange
Bring your projects stickers to FOSS Backstage this year. We will have a sticker exchange and would love have many stickers by cool projects and organisations! And of course you can get some FOSS Backstage stickers as well.
Online Experience & Workshops
All ticket holders have access to the online platform and therefore to the full program of FOSS Backstage. Also, there are a few additional perks:
- On Monday, we will have two online-exclusive workshops:
- At 14:00 CET, Writing Open Source Documentation by Jim Hall
- At 15:30 CET, Designing you Governance with CommunityRule by Nathan Schneider
- The Online-Get-Together on Tuesday will take place directly after the conference in Spatial Chat — you’ll just have to bring your own snacks and beverages!
- Listen to live conversations on our podcast stage: Richard Littauer from the Sustain OSS podcast will speak to participants of FOSS Backstage throughout both conference days and you can listen live on the online plattform.
